2 What You Should Know  Content reflects math that college-bound students typically learn during first three years of high school  More effectively assesses the math necessary for college success  Your combined score is one of many factors that colleges review when considering your college application. Other factors include your academic record, involvement in school activities, application essay and letters of recommendation.

3 SAT Math  Time: 70 minutes  Two 25-minute sections  20 multiple choice  8 multiple choice, 10 student-produced responses  One 20-minute section  16 multiple choice  Content:  Number and Operations  Algebra 1, 2, and Functions  Geometry& Measurement  Statistics, Probability, and Data Analysis  Length of entire SAT: 3 hours, 45 minutes

4 SAT Math  Calculator use is permitted  Graphing calculator  Scientific calculator  4-function calculator (not recommended)  Scoring:  With each correct answer choice, you gain 1 point.  If you leave the answer blank, you get no points.  If your multiple choice answer is attempted but incorrect, you lose ¼ of a point.  If your student-produced response answer is attempted but incorrect, you lose no points.  Score: 200-800
