2 Move on When Ready Move on When Ready Georgia’s dual enrollment program that allows high school students (9 th -12 th grade) to earn college credits, or even a certificate, diploma or associate degree, while working on their high school diploma. MOWR is designed to make it easier for students to take advantage of all the options to enroll in college courses while still in high school.

3 Benefits of Dual Enrollment Students who participate in dual enrollment program more likely to go to college and earn a college degree Help prepare students for the transition from high school to college Student can possibly earn an associate degree, diploma or certificate while earning a high school diploma Taking college level courses may build confidence and encourage students who may not be thinking about college to reconsider

4 To Be Eligible: Any student attending a public or private high school in Georgia or an eligible home study program Must be approved and classified as eligible by the high school 9 th through 12 th grade No residency or citizenship requirement Students must sign an advisement form with their high school Meet admissions requirements at postsecondary institution Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress as required by the college or university Must not have already received a high school diploma

5 Course Options Curriculum of courses that could be used to satisfy graduation requirements and that are identified in the MOWR Dual Credit Enrollment Course Directory include: English Mathematics Science Social Science Foreign Language Career, Technical, Agricultural courses Electives * Students will receive credit only for courses listed in the directory

6 Application Process Apply for admission to the college in which you wish to enroll Meet all admissions requirements of the college by submitting any applicable assessments such as the ACT, SAT Compass or college specific entrance exam After you are accepted to the college of your choice, complete the online MOWR application at www.gacollege.org www.gacollege.org Bring documentation of your college acceptance and this completed checklist to your counselor The MOWR application is required each term the student plans to participate in the dual enrollment program.

8 Things to Consider For every college class a student takes, he/she will be released for two periods of the high school schedule For every college class a student takes, he/she will be released for two periods of the high school schedule The high school does not provide transportation, materials, or academic assistance for classes taken at college The high school does not provide transportation, materials, or academic assistance for classes taken at college MOWR is a yearlong commitment. Students attending college classes during specific periods of the school day 1 st semester will be expected to take classes during those periods 2 nd semester MOWR is a yearlong commitment.
