The names of God in the Hebrew Scripture and the New Testament represent purpose, reflecting His qualities, His character and His attributes. (examples) YAHWEH-ROPHEKA "the Lord God heals“ EL ROI “God of seeing.” YAHWEH-SABAOTH “the Lord of Hosts” YAHWEH-JIREH “the Lord will provide.”
29
EL-SHADDAI “God all sufficient” YAHWEH-NISSI “The Lord is our Banner” YAHWEH-SHALOM “The Lord our Peace” ELYON “The most high God” ADONAI “Lord, LORD, Master, Owner”
30
When Jesus said in ‘The Lord's Prayer’ “Hallowed Be Thy N A M E,” He was referring not only to the historic names of God highly revered by the Jews but He was also referring to the NEW NAME for God, “Abba-Father.” through Mashiach Yeshua (Jesus the Messiah)
31
“HALLOWED BE THY NAME.” “HALLOW” from the Gr. “Hagiazo” ( ἁ γιάζω) “Holy, set apart, perfect, flawless, that which is absolutely complete, without blemish, weakness, and not in any way, defiled or contaminated.”
32
LET ALL THAT GOD IS, KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, HIS PERFECT QUALITY AND CHARACTER, OUR HISTORIC UNDERSTANDING AND OUR NEW UNDERSTANDING OF HIM, BE GIVEN A POSITION WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE AND UNMATCHED. MAY YOU BE HONORED, REVERED, WORSHIPED AND RESPECTED BECAUSE OF WHO YOU ARE.
33
MAY YOUR REPUTATION, NAME, PERSON, AND CHARACTER BE HONORED AND HELD HIGH IN THE PURITY OF OUR WORDS, IN THE UPRIGHTNESS OF OUR ACTIONS, IN THE INTEGRITY OF OUR THOUGHTS.
34
Throughout the Bible, great emphasis is placed on reverence and respect for God and Hallowing His name(s). Psalm 111:10 - "Reverence for the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; All who do His commandments have a good under-standing; Praise be to God who endures forever." Ecclesiastes 1:12 ‑ 13 - “Honor God and keep His command- ments: This is the whole duty of men and women.”
35
2 Corinthians 7:1 - "Since we have God's promises, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.“ Exodus 20:7 - "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will hold accountable anyone who misuses His name."
36
