2 Clear vision within a supportive network While primary responsibility for student success lies within the classroom, we recognize it is a joint responsibility shared by all educational partners. We want to create a commitment to the system and through that commitment individual’s own professional responsibility accepts that there are expectations of the individual balanced with supports from the system.

3 Guiding Principles for Professional Capacity Building GYPSD has a clear vision with a supportive network. GYPSD is reflective, evidence informed and motivated towards improvement for all students. GYPSD believes in adult learning for student success.

4 Gather evidence to inform practices Evidence in multiple forms: Broader humanistic measures Trailing and leading data Artefacts, observations, implementation and goal progress data, surveys from stakeholders

5 Student Success Make it relevant, rigorous and build relationships Students find their passion, develop their skills, put it to good use, and be the best they can be Help students help themselves to be motivated, independent, connected and generous All students as partners Clear goals, authentic feedback, scaffolded and challenging instruction Parent and community partners How does the evidence inform practice- What do we do if they can? What do we do if they can’t?
