3 HISTORY OHDCC was founded in 2001 by Keith Bernardo Originally, it was more of a ‘consulting club’, composed primarily of PhD students in the program Eventually, it became the MA student organization Mateo Cruz, PhD Candidate and former president, founded many current OHDCC structures in 07-08 OHDCC currently has approximately 150 members

4 MISSION STATEMENT OHDCC is a student-run professional organization that operates under the program in Social- Organizational Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. OHDCC serves to promote professional and skill development among members, create networking opportunities, and connect to each other to form a community at TC.

6 5 LEADERSHIP ROLES President VP of Professional Development VP of Alumni Engagement Set vision; Develop annual strategy with team; Liaise with Office of Student Activities (SDA); Work with faculty advisor Sarah Brazaitis; Manage group dynamics Develop budgeting strategy for events; Investigate revenue sources; Liaise with SDA; Monitor expenses Develop annual strategy to enhance development of members to support their future career goals Develop strategy to continue connection of lifetime membership; Liaise with alumni, faculty, admin, alumni relations Develop annual strategy for community building of current membership to create a strong student network VP of Budget VP of Member Engagement

7 THE PROCESS – PRESIDENT March 7th Deadline to apply to be the 2016-2017 OHDCC President March 24th Presidential Panel Online ballot opened immediately after debate March 27th Presidential ballot closed and counted March 28th 2015-2016 OHDCC President announced

8 THE PROCESS – PRESIDENT Application: Questions on the application are intended to give members a better sense of your platform and vision as president, as well as help you prepare for the Presidential Debate. 1. Why did you join the program? Tell us your story! 2. What are your strongest motivators in running for OHDCC president? 3. What do you hope to accomplish (i.e. vision, action plan) in the next year as president? 4. Thinking back to your last leadership experience how would your peers describe you as a leader? 5. Using only pictures, tell us something we don’t know about you (e.g., GIF, photo of yourself, drawing, etc.) Presidential Debate: This is an opportunity for OHDCC members to get to know you. OHDCC will facilitate a Q&A, also allowing time for candidates to address questions raised by members.

9 THE PROCESS – VICE PRESIDENTS March 28th Deadline to apply to be on the 2016-2017 OHDCC Leadership Board Need to specify desire to be the VP of Budget, VP of Alumni Engagement, or VP Member Engagement, VP Professional Development Online ballot opened to OHDCC members for voting 3/30 April 1st Vice Presidential ballot closed and counted April 2nd 2016-2017 OHDCC Leadership Board results announced

10 THE PROCESS – VICE PRESIDENTS Application: Please keep the responsibilities of the VP role you are applying to in mind as you craft your answers. 1. What are your strongest motivators in running for OHDCC Vice President? 2. What do you plan to accomplish (e.g., vision, action plan, etc.) during your year as vice president? 3. Thinking back to your last leadership experience, how would your peers describe you as a leader? 4. Why did you choose the Social Org Psych program at TC? 5. Using only pictures, tell us something we don’t know about you (e.g., GIF, photo of yourself, drawing, etc.)
