Lab Report Conclusion
2
Grading *Restate your hypothesis. (3 points) Do you accept or reject your hypothesis (3 points), and why using evidence. Describe major findings (10 points)? *What errors occur in this lab that may have influenced your data? List at least 2 possible errors. (5 points) *How could you take this lab a step further? (4 points)
3
Restate hypothesis (3 points) My hypothesis said… (copy hypothesis) I stated that…(copy hypothesis) In my hypothesis I said…(copy hypothesis)
4
Do you Accept or Reject (3 point) I accept my hypothesis because my data shows… I was correct I reject my hypothesis because my data shows… I was incorrect ALL IN!! You cannot half accept, mostly accept, partly accept a hypothesis *In the rare case where you might have 2 hypothesis, you can accept/reject each separately
5
Why do you accept or reject? (10 points) My data shows… Give details from your data (your evidence) Present the evidence that proves you were right or wrong! Make a strong case! Explain why some data might look like it would go against your conclusion, but you think overall your data proves your conclusion Describe major findings from the lab. What did you learn?
6
Error Analysis (5 points) What things that happened in this lab that may have influenced your data? If you fixed it, it is not an error Think of ways that made your data inaccurate the method used for measuring Look at your data – does one number seem different than the others? Should it be discarded? Why Think of at least 2 errors
7
How can I take this further (4 points) What more can you do to learn about the topic of this lab? Explain what you could do to make the experiment better Explain what your next experiment would be Explain what you hope to learn by doing the new experiment Can you apply what you learned to something in real world? Can you expand the lab to learn how other factor might influence results? Do not say “I would do more of the same thing” “ I would do more trials”
