2
Project Overview Sponsor: Carlos Orozco, Vanderbilt General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) Goal: Develop a system that provides automated measurement and collection of vital signs data using the GE Dinamap vital signs monitor and automatically uploads the data to the GCRC database
3
Project Requirements (as established with sponsor) Must be able to take blood pressure and heart rate data at regular intervals over several days Must be highly reliable, using redundancy to protect against lost data All data must be uniquely identifiable to a patient (timestamp, patient ID) Data should be stored locally then securely uploaded to GCRC database over wireless local area network
4
Project Requirements Must be easy to use by nurses Must require minimal user input to start data collection Must be able to set regular time interval for data collection Must provide dashboard report tab for investigator to preview measurement trends during the study Must be able to take measurement at any time, in addition to specified intervals
