Why is he famous? Gregor Mendel is the “father of modern genetics” He is famous for discovering how pea plants pass on genes

Awards and accomplishments He did not win any awards He did write a paper called “Experiments on Plant Hybridization” He was made abbot of his monastery in 1688 People discovered how important his work was after his death
