1 Project #2 It is 7:10pm. You are working the evening shift at a community pharmacy. Things have been pretty slow since about 6:30 which is no surprise to surprise to you. You know that most of the town is across the street in the high school gym watching the Jones County High School Jets in a regional basket ball playoff game.

2 Just as you are about to audit your control drugs (yes, it is that slow tonight) a panicked man comes in and says…

3 “Quick, call 911. There was an explosion at the high school. Some kind of bomb, I think. One of the bleachers collapsed & a fire has started. I was barely able to get out. Many people are still trapped and those who did get out are injured. Please hurry!”

4 You call 911 and they ask you to begin triaging the patients until help can arrive (They know that as a pharmacist you would be an excellent choice for this due to your mass casualty training). You agree and head across the street & these are the people you see…

5 1) 26 year old male with smoke inhalation, confusion, and minor facial burns

6 2) 43 year old male vomiting blood and severe facial and torso burns

7 3) 16 year old female with vomiting, nystagmus, and facial burns

8 4) 3 year old male with severe leg and facial burns

9 5) 52 year old female with anxiety and smoke inhalation resulting in shortness of breath

10 6) 15 year old female with minor arm burn, smoke inhalation, bumps and bruises from fall off of bleachers

11 7) 12 year old female with confusion and bruised left arm

12 8) 18 year old male with smoke inhalation, nystagmus, and confusion

13 9) 17 year old female with confusion, facial burn, and smoke inhalation

14 10) 12 year old male with severe torso burn, lacerations to extremities, and shortness of breath

15 11) 8 year old male facial burn, severe torso burn, and broken wrist

16 12) 22 year old female simple leg fracture, minor arm burn and laceration

17 13) 27 year old male confusion, vomiting, and unsteady gait. He smells of alcohol.

28 24) 32 year old female severe burn to left arm and compound fracture of right arm

29 25) 28 year old male minor torso burn, left ankle is red and swollen

30 26) 57 year old male chest pain, shortness of breath, reports history of angina

31 27) 12 year old female facial burns and unconscious (weak, irregular pulse)

32 28) 22 year old male with confusion, imbedded debris in arm and shoulder

33 29) 18 year old female severe right leg burn, swollen bruised forehead

34 30) 15 year old male anxiety, dislocated shoulder, and shortness of breath from smoke inhalation

35 31) 7 year old male with gushing lacerations on arms and face with imbedded debris

38 34) 18 year old female excessively bleeding head wound and burns to right leg and torso

55 51) 52 year old female with anxiety and smoke inhalation resulting in shortness of breath

57 53) 12 year old female with confusion, lethargy (but still conscious) and compound left arm fracture

58 54) 9 year old female with severe burns to arms and legs and a charbroiled behind

59 55) 16 year old female with vomiting of blood, nystagmus, and facial burns

60 56) 17 year old male with minor lacerations and minor burns to arms and hands

61 57) 47 year old male unconscious with weak pulse

62 58) 32 year old female severe shortness of breath from prolonged smoke inhalation while looking for her son in building

63 59) 18 year old male with bruise to shoulder and thigh

64 60) 37 year old male anxiety over missing son who is the starter for the Jones County High School Jets and smoke inhalation from helping others out of the building
