Adjective Basics Adjectives are words that describe nouns or pronouns They include colors, numbers, etc.

Proper adjectives Like nouns, adjectives can be proper and might need capitalizing Proper adjectives are either proper nouns or formed from proper nouns Examples: –Monday morning –German literature

Compound Adjectives Adjectives can be compound Mostly, compound adjectives are hyphenated. But here are several examples of different types –Airborne pollen –North American geography –Water-soluble nutrients

Pronouns as Adjectives Possessive, Demonstrative, Interrogative, and Indefinite pronouns can also function as adjectives. You can tell the pronoun is also an adjective if it modifies the noun. Example: Her book, that book, which book, another book
