Research priorities in Nursing In 1997, The World Health Organization established a list of priorities for nursing research which include: - The effects of health system reforms - The supply and demand of work force - Working conditions - Care delegation - The health-disease process in vulnerable populations - Ethics - Cultural aspects of care - Home care - Occupational health - Infection control

Scope: The opportunity or possibility to do or deal with something. Significance: the quality of being worthy of attention; importance. Difference between Significance and Scope

Importance of Research in Nursing Nurses frontline role puts them in a unique position to reflect the needs and Concerns of patients and the public. contribute to research keeps research activity focused on patient care and the Needs of our health service. It also helps support meaningful engagement with patients and families. Nursing research can make health and social care more cost-effective. Nurses work in a wide range of roles to improve the health of the people and client. Nursing research and evidence implementation are essential parts of the education and training.

Cont… To improve nursing care, patient outcomes and the health care delivery system. To improve their decision-making regarding what care to provide patients and how to implement that care. To document the effectiveness of selected nursing interventions in treating particular patient problems and promoting positive patient outcomes. To determine the best way to deliver health care services so that the greatest numbers of people receive care.
