JULY 11 TH EVENTS IN HISTORY 1789- The US Marine Corps was created by the act of Congress. 1914- Babe Ruth finally makes his MLB debut. 1916- President Woodrow Wilson signs the Federal Aid Road Act. 1944- Hitler is visited by his would-be assassin. 1945- Soviets finally agree to hand over the power in West Berlin. 1955- US Congress authorizes for all of the US currency to say “In God We Trust”.

JULY 11 TH DEATHS IN HISTORY 1804- Alex Hamilton killed by Vice President Aaron Burr over a pistol duel. 1973- Isabel Randolph (actress) died while only 83. 1989- Laurence Olivier, who acted as Hamlet, died at 82. 1991- Hitoshi Igarashi (Japanese interpreter) murdered. 1994- James Topping, the author of CP/M, died while only 52. 2004- Laurance Rockefeller (philanthropist) died at age 94.

MUSIC HISTORY ON JULY 11 TH 1964- “Where Did Our Love Go?” by the group, The Supremes’ was released. 1964- The Beatles appeared on the show, “Lucky Stars” on channel ABC, and performed “A Hard Day’s Night”, “Long Tall Sally”, and a few more songs. 1969- David Bowie’s song called “Space Oddity” was released in the UK. 1979- “Summertime Blues” was finally released by The Who.

CONCLUSION July 11 th is a special day with many notable birthdays, memorable events, and important deaths. It’s a unique day in our history, even though it’s not recognized as a national holiday. Just like any other day, it’s a great day to be alive and a wonderful day to celebrate my birthday.
