300 million years ago all the continents were joined together to make one large super continent called Pangea. But 175 million years ago the great Pangea started to break up which caused all the continents to drift into the place they are now. Madagascar and India broke up from each other at the end of the Jurassic period. This is the whole thing Pangea

Madagascar has many endemic species. Here are some of them. There is the leaf tailed gecko who is the master of camouflage. It can hide itself as decaying leaves and tree bark. There is also the ring tailed lemur with its fur colours of grey, black and white. Butterflies from Madagascar ! Endemic species

The comet moth is a mammoth of an insect. Its wing span is 15cm and its legendary tail is 20cm in length
