4. 4  EFSA seeks high-calibre expertise in the field of toxicology and chemistry to become members of the Panel on Food Additives and Nutrient Sources Added to Food (ANS) and the Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF).  Experts sought to cover: safety assessment of chemical substances; toxicology; toxicity testing; chemistry; exposure assessment; human nutrition; food microbiology including enzymes, and food technology. 5. 5 Experts’ contribution Highly-calibre independent experts will: –carry out and/or coordinate/review risk assessment studies and analyses; –ensure Europe’s risk managers receive the key scientific advice they need for their food safety decisions to help ensure Europe’s food is safe for consumers.
