3 Intellectual Themes Common Sense can do more than book sense. What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. You can’t trust what you read.

4 Common Sense can do more than book sense. Floating body was a woman because women float face-up while men float face-down. p12 Huck blew his cover because he didn’t know how to tread needles and throw like a girl. p72 Traveled at night to avoid being seen and questioned about Jim.

5 What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. They learned how to hide better by living on the island while people were looking for them. Living with the Grangerford’s let them understand how people live. Scamming people while with the king and the duke helped get them out of trouble later.

7 Moral Themes Conscience Counts The right way isn’t always the most fun. Can’t forget what you already know.
