6. No one speaks another language as their native tongue but we can assume that my family that came over from Germany spoke German. On my Mothers Paternal side we can go as far back to 1710 when The Von Hayderschatt’s (Hendershot) came to America on a ship called “Lyon”. I'm not completely sure what my ancestors left behind but you can assume they left property and family.

7. The name Hendershot is German. It was originally Von Hayderschatt. The Von Hayderschatt that came to America in 1710 on the ship "Lyon” was Michael (Von Hayderschatt) Henneschied. He was born in 1674 in Bavaria, Germany. He came to America with his wife, Katherine Ann Von Bauer Von Heinrichschofen whom he wed in Vienna, Austria and their 3 children, Casper, Sophia and Peter. There would be 4 more children born after they arrived in America.
