1 Tuesday 10/22/13 Agenda Objective: We will analyze the idea of betrayal using scenarios. Language: We will write in complete sentences. 1. Bell work: write this question: should we be loyal to a person or an idea? -quick write for 10 minutes -norms: silent, writing entire time, graded on effort -ongoing tree map 2. Scenarios on betrayal -read silently and complete part 1 -discuss -groups: brainstorm and record 3 inventions that could have prevented the betrayal 3. Sentence Formulas: HOMEWORK due Wednesday 4. Revised Essay due today or Thursday if you come to tutoring on Wednesday.

2 Simple Sentence Formulas A sentence must have a subject and a verb. A complete sentence is an independent clause. An independent clause is a complete thought that can stand alone. Simple Sentence Formulas: SVSSVSVVSSVV EXAMPLES: 1. John walks to school. 2. Bob and John walk to school. 3. Bob smiles and laughs with his friends. 4.
