CIVIL LAWS Concerned with disputes between people or groups in which no criminal laws have been broken Examples: family law, lawsuits, breach of contract, personal injury

CRIMINAL LAW Seek to protect people and their property People or group is charged with a crime Two types –Crimes against people –Crimes against property Robbery, larceny, burglary, murder, assault Government is always the plaintiff

ADMINISTRATIVE LAW REFERS TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH CREATES AND CARRIES OUT FCC, FAA, EEOC, OSHA- THEIR RULES ARE ADMINISTRATIVE LAW

INTERNATIONAL LAW Laws and agreements made by and followed by multiple countries NATO, United Nations, Interpol, NAFTA

CONSTITUTIONAL LAW Deals with the formation, construction and interpretation of our constitution. Protects our basic liberties and rights from government power Court cases: Brown, Mapp, Gideon
