Research infrastructures are facilities, resources and services that are used by the research communities to conduct research and foster innovation:  Scientific collections, archives and structured information ( scientific data )  ICT-based infrastructures ( data and computing systems and communication networks)  Major scientific equipment ( or sets of instruments ) 1. Developing the European RIs for 2020 and beyond  Developing new world-class RIs  Integrating and opening national and regional RIs of European interest  Development, deployment and operation of ICT based e-Infrastructures 2. Fostering the innovation potential of RIs and their human resources 3. Reinforcing European RI policy and international cooperation

6. Визначення та головні завдання Дослідницькі інфраструктури –засоби, ресурси або послуги, унікальні для проведення досліджень та прискорення інновацій у всіх галузях науки. Можуть використовуватися не тільки в інтересах досліджень, тобто в освіті або для надання державних послуг. Таке визначення дослідницьких інфраструктур охоплює основне обладнання/ набір інструментарію а також ресурси, що містять знання: колекції, архіви і банки даних. Е-Інфраструктури означають бази даних, обчислювальні системи, комунікаційні мережі, в тому числі інфраструктури на основі ІКТ, такі як Grid, комп'ютерні інфраструктури, інфраструктури програмного забезпечення та проміжного програмного забезпечення. Розвиток ДІ європейського виміру до 2020 р. і після цього:  Розвиток нових ДІ світового рівня  Об’єднаня та відкриття національних та регіональних ДІ, в яких зацікавлена Європа  Розвиток, розповсюдження та управління е-інфраструктурами на основі ІКТ Прискорення інноваційного потенціалу ДІ та людських ресурсів Підсилення міжнародної співпраці та політики щодо ДІ

7. Міжнародне співробітництво – International cooperation is crucial to address many Horizon 2020 objectives. – Principle of general openness: the programme will remain to be the most open funding programme in the world. – Horizon 2020 shall be open to the Association of: all countries associated to FP7 and selected ENP countries that fulfil the relevant criteria (capacity, track record, close economic and geographical links to the Union, fair and sound IPRs systems). – Targeted actions to be implemented taking a strategic approach to international cooperation (dedicated measures in the 'Inclusive and reflective societies' challenge).
