6 Plans and Scale A plan or map…. is a birds-eye view of a place A plan can be rough or drawn to scale. Why do we have scales on maps? Scale tells you… how the size of something on the plan relates to the size in real life.

7 What are the three types of scale? We can express scale in 3 ways: In words: 1 cm is equal to 30m on a map As a ratio: 1:3000 Or Graphically Km 030

8 Draw a plan (to scale) of the water feature in relation to the grass. What must you plan (map) have?
