What it did for me is give me a framework in terms of where I want to go with a collaborative learning environment. Albeit small steps. it is nonetheless a framework, or blueprint, to a paradigm shift.” “Also, tons of resources to draw from and very helpful. Why reinvent the wheel? I found myself still looking for the ‘wheel’ at times but the Intel program gave me a lot of ‘wheels’ to choose from.”

Quote from Dr. Ruby Brown, Ed.D Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District “Having these two classes with teacher preparation is critical because of the theory and thinking that drive lesson planning and teaching. The content of the courses focuses attention on the "big picture" as opposed to individual content standards. By developing an Essential Question, Unit Questions, and then Content Questions first, teachers are focused on STUDENTS' responsibility for learning and how they can support the students. Sound theory then drives responsible educational decisions for the class as a whole, small groups, and individual students.”

Since teachers in training have already developed a high level of technology skills, they can make immediate use of the tools which are available within the system. As all teachers are required to make modifications for individual students including those in Special Education and English Language Students, the modifications are built into the overall plan. This is far more effective than a new teacher trying to make modifications after the typical "Class Plan" has been created.”
