Measles! Death rate Usually 0.2% Maximum of 10% (2015 study) measles can increase death from other diseases for 2-3 years Spread 4 days before rash-4 days after rash Infected person spreads to 90% of unvaccinated ppl around them Can live up to 2 hours in air where cough/sneeze

Basic Reproduction Number (r 0 ) If you get sick, the average number of people you will pass the virus on to. Flu = 2-3 Ebola = 2 Measles = 12-18

Sources (“Caleb”) I got this graph from www.vaccinedecision.info which is a website that says it gives people “an informed choice” about vaccine usewww.vaccinedecision.info I tried to go to this “source” site, but it doesn’t exist. I (briefly) looked up Vital Statistics of the United States, but couldn’t find data on kinds of deaths.

Sources (“Bethany”) I got this graph from a blog site that talks about disease-related topics The author actually took time to respond to “Caleb’s” graph. He said that the records were not remotely accurate going back to 1900. The author was a Microbiology professor and now works at the CDC.
