Grading Scale A 100 - 93 B 92 - 85 C 84 - 77 D 76 - 70 F 69 and below Participation and homework grade – 50pts. (added at the end of each quarter)

Entering the Room Backpacks Backpacks SHOULD be brought into the classroom. You must have all materials each day (You will not be allowed to leave the classroom for left items). Place backpacks neatly under your table.

Daily materials Binder iPad Textbook (if necessary) Pens/pencils (sharpened and ready to write) Loose leaf paper Homework

Daily Classroom Procedures Copy homework for the week onto your iPad calendar. Copy and date the objective of the day from into Pages on your iPad Complete the daily warm-up (Brainteaser). Make sure your pencil is sharpened before I begin the lesson!

During Class Movement around the room (restroom, tissue, pencils, etc.) Be a decision maker Don’t walk around when someone else is speaking

Visitors or Walk-thru’s Don’t interrupt the lesson to acknowledge someone Continue working and DO NOT start chatting

Finishing early Explore a cool science app or website. Work on an unfinished Science assignment - vocabulary, project, etc. Clean your desk area without interrupting anyone else. Start working on tonight’s homework.

Turning in work Homework should be turned in to me first thing. I will grade it daily.

Homework All or nothing at all - for completion. It must be neat and show effort. It cannot be made up for points. Call a friend, not me ;), if you have a question about what’s for homework. Check the homework bin in the black cart for missed assignments. It is YOUR responsibility to get missed assignments.

Absent Procedures Call a friend for homework. Look on the website. Check the homework bin when you return to school. Copy notes from a friend during your break or lunch. AES has a 1:1 policy. One day absent, one day to make up work. Two days absent, two days to make up work, etc.

Dismissal Wait for the teacher to dismiss you. When given the cue, clean your area, gather your materials, push in your chair, and leave quietly.

Rules Be respectful to everyone in our school community. Be responsible for your attitude, behavior, and learning. Follow the rules in the AES handbook.

Consequence 3 step system 1st infraction - teacher correction 2nd infraction - yellow card warning 3rd infraction - red card. YOU email home.

School-wide tidbits Before school report to the pavilion until dismissed Report to carpool a.s.a.p. when the bell rings at the end of the day Enter chapel quietly and remain quiet/respectful throughout the service.

NO buddy system in middle school Snack shack - form a single line. Do NOT enter the MS office. Restroom and water breaks should be taken between classes,not during class, unless it is an emergency.

Mrs. Shelly Respect her space and her desk. Do not leave ANYTHING on her desk. Do not ask her to borrow money for any reason Do not ask her to call home for homework, lunch, after school events, etc.
