The Nuremberg Trials 1.The trials were held in Nuremberg, Germany. 2.Allied leaders agreed to punish those responsible for “crimes against humanity”. – Crimes against humanity: widespread or systematic murder, directed against any civilian (non-military) population. 3.Twenty-two Nazi leaders were put on trial (Hitler was already dead). Some received the death penalty, others were imprisoned (put in jail). 4.Additional trials were held in Italy and Japan.
