Discussion ITPA-10 in Troitsk 11 of April 2006 (Neutron Working Group)
2
I. Absolute Neutron yield measurements 1. Number of NFM is preferable External NFM (U-235, U-238) Internal (Microfission chambers (array) U- 235) Divertor (U-235, U-238) NDD, Si in number of positions 2. RNC + VNC 3. Neutron spectrometer + (RNC+VNC) 4. Activation method
3
Absolute calibration DT neutron generator ~ 10**11 n/s Cf and / or Am-Be neutron source ~ 10**10 n/s MCNP calculation for NFM, RNC+VNC, Spectrometer, Activation technique Activation technique will provide check of calibration coefficients change in time NTA Neutron generator and neutron source (same as will be used for in-situ calibration)
4
Spectrometers Fast ions (Beam deuterons) Ti AKN Vrot D/T ratio
5
Fast ions NBI deuteron spatial distribution during AE activity (for current drive, for transport studies, confinement) (JT-60U, D-IIID (FIDA, W.H.), JET, N.Gorelenkov) Advance regime (D-IIID, current hole at JET) ICRH (fundamental for D and second harmonic for T) (JET)
6
Lost alpha detectors
7
New measurement technologies CVD diamond (increase of sensitivity) Digital Signal Processing (increase of dynamic range and time resolution)
