Today’s case study task: Using the information and advice provided in your case study materials: Choose the 2 best applicants for each post (look for the best match between the advert and the candidate’s applications paperwork) Complete the Applications Shortlist sheet

Tip: When shortlisting, fix the job in your mind: What sort of person do you want? What qualifications do you want? What technical knowledge do you want? What skills and experience do you want?

With the job fixed in your mind look carefully at each candidate’s application: What is your first impression? Spelling Grammar Layout, neatness, clarity Effort – too much writing, too little?

With the job fixed in your mind look carefully at each candidate’s application: Look at their education Is it relevant Have they studied any relevant modules Any relevant projects or assignments Are they a good student
