4 main components: City Life in the Classical World – focus on Athens – 25% Community Life in the Classical World – focus on Pompeii – 25% Ancient Literature – Ovid’s Metamorphoses – 25% Controlled Assessment – range of topics available – 25% Examined in 3 x 1hr papers

Skills developed throughout the course and reasons to study it: Researching. Contextualising. Memory skills. Links with Latin and Greek. Literary traditions. Archaeology A highly interactive course! DARE TO BE DIFFERENT! A true balance between Roman and Greek worlds Overview of some fundamental periods/happenings in history It is completely cross curricular – links with History, Geography and English literature to name a few

What to expect: Model making Dressing up as gladiators Heated democratic debates and voting Commentating on the Olympic sports Re-enactment of the Panathenaic procession Film making – Escape to the country Roman or Greek style! Creative reinterpretations of myth Who’s in the bag?!
