Facts that you should know about the Colosseum (also known as the Amphitheatrum Flavium) By Gage Adams

Location and who built/developed it, when and why It was located just east of the Roman Forum, the amphitheater known as the Colosseum was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasian as a gift to the Roman people to earn popularity. In A.D. 80, Vespasian’s son Titus opened the Colosseum, he opened it to be officially known as the Flavian Amphitheater.

Importance/Use of the Colosseum When Titus opened up the Colosseum he started it with 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights.
