An Overview VOLUNTEER TUTORING
2
The mission of the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee is to work towards eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The GED/HiSET Preparation Services Program supports the mission through educational empowerment. All students are treated as intelligent, capable adult learners. The program supports the vision through assisting each student to become a life-long learner, to attain a high school equivalency credential and continue their education through post-secondary schools or workforce training. Education helps to raise awareness of the problems of violence and racism. By raising the educational level of our students, we raise their awareness of those problems and solutions to them.
