To say “my name is…” To say “my name is…” –Me llamo… Comes from verb llamarse; roughly translates as “to call oneself” Comes from verb llamarse; roughly translates as “to call oneself”

Comes from llamarse Me llamo = I call myself Te llamas = You call yourself Se llama = He/She calls himself/herself Nos llamamos = We call ourselves Os llamáis* = You all call youselves Ustedes se llaman = You all call yourselves Se llaman = They call themselves Verbs that say “oneself” (the person does the action to him/herself) are called a reflexive verb.

Definition/Meaning Reflexive verbs - the person doing the verb is also the object of the verb; in other words, the person is performing the action on himself/herself –I bathe myself. –He dries himself. –We put ourselves to bed.

How to conjugate Three easy steps: 1. Move the reflexive pronoun to before the infinitive. bañarse → se bañar 2. Conjugate the verb like normal. se bañar → se baño (yo) 3. Modify the pronoun to match the verb. se baño → me baño
