What is bullying? Bullying is the use of words or strength to intimidate another person. The victim is usually smaller than the bully. The bully may be trying to force the victim to give him something, or forcing him to do something.
3
Who is responsible for the prevention of bullying? There is no correct answer, but the ABC (Anti- Bullying Committee) believes that bully’s are responsible for ending bullying. If the bully’s wanted to end bullying, they could just stop bullying, and it would end. Everyone else could try, but nobody can actually end it, except the bully’s themselves. We may not be able to help the world, but we can help our local community.
4
What we could do to help prevent bullying Anonymous bully boxes Anonymous bullying forms Enlist bullying monitors Clubs Bully and guidance counselor conferences
5
Bully boxes If someone is bullied, they could fill out a small piece of paper, stating the bully’s name, and your name. Then the guidance counselor could check the box once a week. Then, they could set up meetings with the bully and the victim.
6
Bullying Forms On the school website, there could be a form that a student could print out. They could fill out the form, and answer questions about their bully, how they bully them, etc. Then the form could be handed into the guidance counselor.
7
Bullying monitors Responsible kids could be selected by the school to be bullying monitors. This means that these selected kids could walk around the halls between classes, and watch out for bullying. If they witness bullying, they could tell the principal or the guidance counselor.
8
Clubs Clubs could be created for people who get bullied to join. They could talk about how they feel, and what they get bullied about. Then one day they could work with the club runner to end the bully’s bullying.
9
Bully to guidance counselor conferences Most bully’s bully people due to problems at home. Therefore, the guidance counselor could set up meetings with the bully’s and try to stop them from bullying.
10
Why you should adopt this program Bullying happens every day, and causes so many different problems. It could even cause death. Over 3.2 million people are bullied every year. Our program could help end bullying and end the pain of millions of people each year.
