By: Brendan, Jeremy, Andrew, and Mitch The unequal distribution of wealth or resources in a geographic area, so that some places are richer then others.

Even though much of Detroit is in ruins, there are still many homes for the wealthy to live. These lucky folks are some of the few people in Detroit who can afford a proper home.

After Detroit’s economic crash in the 1970s-80s, the suburbs have decayed and many Detroiters have become broke or poor. Many of these houses are being used only as shelter to those who can’t afford better homes. Unlike Mexico City, these homes are made of wood and plastic materials.

These homes in the Polanco of Mexico City hold the richest residents, although there are few. Homes like these often have walls and large gardens. They also have servants who are very poor. The Mexico City rich are wealthier than the Detroit rich.

Unlike Detroit, the Mexico City slums are mostly of trash and scrap materials. The slums here are much more poor that the people in Detroit suburbs. These homes often do not have electricity or clean running water.
