GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #2 Intro. Goal - Objective, purpose, aim, plan. An end that is WORKED toward. If no work - then how is it a goal? Recall Lesson #1: Being Scriptural! Proving all things by God’s word! BEING FRUITFUL

GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #2 I. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FRUITFUL? BEING FRUITFUL A. Not Mere Numbers (Mt. 7:13-14; 2 Pet. 2:1-2). B. Spiritual Growth: 1. Church = Saved (Ax 2:38, 41, 47; Eph. 5:23). 2. Increase in knowledge (2 Pet. 3:18; Acts 6:7; 16:5). 3. Numerical growth is not a goal in itself, it is a result of proper spiritual growth (Acts 4:4, 12; Acts 5:1-14).

GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #2 II. WHY SHOULD THIS BE OUR GOAL? BEING FRUITFUL A. The Lord’s Work (Matt. 18:11). B. Mission Of The Church (1 Tim. 3:15). C. Individuals Should Always Abound In The Work Of The Lord (1 Cor. 15:58). D. To Show Mercy (Jude 21-23). Abide In The Vine (John 15:1-5)!

GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #2 IV. WHAT IS NEEDED FOR GROWTH? BEING FRUITFUL A. A Mind To Work (Neh. 4:6). B. Don’t Let Cares Of World Choke (Matt. 13:22). (Family, Sports, Jobs, Houses, Lawns, TV, etc.) C. Patience In Teaching (Luke 8:4-15; 2 Tim. 4:2). CONCLUSION: Are We Being Fruitful In The Lord?
