1 AP Literature and Composition February 5, 2009 Ms. Cares

2 Agenda: 1.Examine your peer reviewer comments and scores alongside your essay. 2.Discussion of scores and AP-style essays. 3.AP Multiple Choice Poem Reading Homework: Continue working on your revised “Flame-Heart” essay. The final draft is DUE Monday, February 9 th.

3 Peer Review Comments: Yesterday, you should have read one another’s essays and provided feedback regarding at least two essays. Today, we need to unpack one another’s comments and suggestions. 1.Read through the comments that you received. 2.Examine your own essay through the eyes of your peer reviewers. Talk to the people who read your essay if need be. 3.Begin to make revisions based on one another’s suggestions.

4 Multiple Choice Poetry Work Before we begin our next writing piece, we need to take a little breather. What better way to breathe than with a poem?!? Particularly one of my favorite poems of all time. (Some of you may have seen this poem before, too.) 1. Read and annotate (!) Dylan Thomas’s “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night.” 2. Answer the open-ended questions. 3. Answer the multiple choice questions.
