Law of Detachment She detached the collar from her coat. I detached the weeds from my fish hook. Law of Detachment: A pattern that detaches the conclusion from a conditional statement.

Law of Detachment Write another true statement, if possible. If Fran gets an A in Spanish, then she will make the Honor Roll. Fran gets an A in Spanish. Fran will make the Honor Roll.

Law of Detachment Write another true statement, if possible. If John is in 10 th grade, then he is a sophomore. John is in 10 th grade. John is a sophomore.

Chain Rule We made a paper chains for the party decorations. I put my pendant on a chain. Chain Rule: links two true conditional statements. It can only be used if the hypothesis of one statement is the conclusion of the other.

Chain Rule What other statement must also be true using the following statements? If I’m proud of my heritage, then I will learn more about my culture. If I learn more about my culture, then I can share it better with other people.

Chain Rule If I clean my room, then I’ll find my shoes. If I find my shoes, then I’ll be able to go to the store. If I clean my room, then I’ll be able to go to the store.
