2 When did immigrants from France first begin coming to the United States? They first began to come in 1718

4 At that point why did this group want to leave their country and what were they looking for in America? A lot of French immigrants were political refugees fleeing from the failed 1848 Revolution. A lot of French immigrants were political refugees fleeing from the failed 1848 Revolution.

5 Has America welcomed them or rejected them? Why? At first America rejected them and the French and Native Americans went to war.At first America rejected them and the French and Native Americans went to war. 6 How did they travel to the united states? Where did they enter or land upon arrival?  They traveled by boat and entered by New York, Detroit, and down by Mississippi and Louisiana.

7 Where has most of this group settled in the United States? Why? Louisiana & Detroit. That’s where they enter the United States so they Stayed there.

8 What social, linguistic, economic, and cultural hardships have these immigrants faced?  The French faced Religious Practiced Prejudice.

9 Is there a job or jobs that many members of this group typically perform in United States?  Many of them where farmers.  Many worked inn the timber industry thus known as loggers.

10 What kinds of laws have governed their migration, work and citizenship opportunities, and how have these laws changed over time?  The federal government charged them immigration laws in 1960 up until then only people from Europe and Africa could migrate here because the 1960’s was open immigration. There’s a quota only so many can come in.

11 Have many of these immigrants sought to become citizens? About 90% of them stayed. About 90% of them stayed.
