7. The Elements of Design Line- line can be considered in two ways. The linear marks made with a pen or brush or the edge created when two shapes meet.

8. Shape- A shape is a self contained defined area of geometric or organic form. A positive shape in a painting automatically creates a negative shape

9. Direction- All lines have a direction-horizontal, Vertical, of Oblique. Horizontal suggests calmness, stability and tranquility,. Vertical lines gives a feeling of balance, formality and alertness. Oblique lines suggest movement and action.

10. Texture Texture- Texture is the way something feels of looks like it should feel. Textures can be rough, smooth, soft, hard, glossy, woven, etc.

11. Color Color = other names= -Colour and Hue

12. Value Value- Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. Value is also called Tone.
