Preparing a Resume A resume is a bare bones portrait of you, a personal data sheet that provides a written summary of your education, experience, activities, and other pertinent information.

What is the purpose of a RESUME? A resume provides detailed written information about a person that may be attached to a letter of application

What are the main items needed on a resume? Name, address, and telephone Career objective, goal, or position desired Education and training that qualifies you for the job Work experience School or community activities Other items of interest that reflect positively on you A separate list for of references, attached to the resume

Good RESUME Writing Tips Good RESUME Writing Tips Resume should be attractive and represent you well Neatly typed or written Words correctly spelled No grammatical errors Use computer word processing Use a typeface that is easy to read Do not include a photograph in your resume – make title page with picture Always keep an updated resume on file
