2  Poland has many unique and amazing places worth visiting. Each one of these places has something special to offer - a green and pleasant nature and very friendly people all over the country. If Poland stands out for one thing, it’s got to be beautiful architecture, great castles, pretty squares, lovely parks and its many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Poland is simply a breathtaking country, and not just culturally. Poland’s countryside is beautiful, and there over 20 national parks scattered throughout the country. 3  The highest mountain range between the Alps and the Caucasus. Here you will find rocky peaks covered with snow all year round, sharp ridges, picturesque lakes, waterfalls and valleys that together make this place possibly the most spectacular in Poland. There are about 250 km of trails and a wide range of slopes to satisfy the most demanding of hikers and skiers. A stay in the town of Zakopane at the foot of the mountains is recommended for those who love admiring beautiful landscapes and original folk culture.  The Tatras, a part of the Carpathian Mountains, are the youngest in this part of Europe. The highest top on the Polish side is Rysy (2 499 m above sea level). The Tatras are home to many animals, including lynxes, eagles, chamois, marmots and brown bears. To protect the local wildlife, all of the mountain area was included in the Tatra National Park and on the UNESCO Biosphere List.

6  Baltic Sea is the largest, brackish (low salinity content) water body in the world. One of its chief characteristics is that it divides itself into a number of basins of varying depths, separated by shallow areas or sills. Baltic coastline is shared by nine countries. Sweden and Finland in the north, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the east, Poland in the south and Germany and Denmark in the west. Baltic coastline in Poland is 788 kilometers long and is a tourist heaven. Apart from the usual golden beaches, studded with pieces of amber, the windy call of the sea and photogenic cliffs, the coastline is dotted with historical towns and cute fishing hamlets-each providing a wonderful opportunity to get lost, willingly, from the hustle- bustle of a calibrated lifestyle, for a couple of days. Swinoujscie, Miedzyzdroje, Rewal, Niechorze, Mrzezyno, Dzwirzyno, Kolobrzeg, Ustronie Morskie, Sarbinowo, Mielno, Dabki and Darlowo are holiday sea resorts of prominence and provide a gala treat of the sun, sand and the surf.

9  A picturesque region of more than a thousand lakes. For sailors, fishermen, hikers, cyclists and those who simply seek tranquillity, Masuria is holiday destination number one. Apart from water sports and the simple wandering around absorbing the atmosphere, you may explore a multitude of historical places. Covered with thick forests and a great number of lakes linked by rivers and canals, it attracts a large number of water sports enthusiasts. The well-developed tourist base gives you the opportunity to hire the necessary equipment without any difficulty. Those who prefer to visit historical places will not be disappointed by Masuria either. There are Teutonic castles, beautiful churches and palaces as well as Hitler's wartime headquarters.

13  Warsaw, the largest city of Poland and a bustling metropolis. The city appears to be a concrete jungle in the first impression but actual Warsaw is a picturesque old town hosting scores of palaces, churches, and architectural complexes. The city is known to be the lively cultural capital of Poland. Various theaters, cinemas, museums, and art galleries thrive in the city. Warsaw is dotted with luxury hotels, happening clubs and discos, parks, castles and museums.

14  Krakow is the jewel of Poland. The town which served as the ancient capital of Poland, was the residence of Polish monarchs for centuries. Its flamboyant monuments have been included by UNESCO in its list of world heritage sites. For the connoiseurs of history, the city brings loads of delight. Krakow is the most glorious witness of Polish history. Kracow travel would take you close to all tourist attractions of the town.

15  Wroclaw, located in south-western Poland, makes for a pleasant visit. Sliced through by several tributaries of River Odra, it is a different town of 12 islands and 112 bridges. The town is known for its charming historical monuments, green parks and restaurants. Wroclaw travel would give you the opportunity to enjoy plenty of tourist attractions.

16  Gdansk has its own importance in Poland. Second World War started in Gdansk. But the city has restored itself so beautifully that no one can see the traces of that hell in the city. Monuments like Golden Gate, Town Hall of Main town, St Mary's Church and many other historical monuments of the city add excitement to the city tour. Nature lovers, water enthusiasts and beach lovers can discover an amazing holiday destination in Gdansk.

17  Katowice is located in Upper Silesia, which means it's changed hands many times in its long history. Originally inhabited by ethnic Silesians. The city of Katowice was founded in the 19th century, gaining city status in 1865. The city has a long history of being a multi-ethnic city, and its inhabitants consisted mainly of Poles, Germans, Jews, and Silesians. After the Industrial Revolution, the city became one of the largest centre of coal and steel production, and to this day is known as an industrial centre of Poland.
