Renewable Energy Adriana Martinez

Biomass Briquettes Biomass Briquettes are converted into a usable form of energy by being used as alternatives to firewood, wood pellets, and charcoal. Biomass Briquettes are used in place of charcoal, firewood, etc. They can be burned in unmodified wood, and wood pellet stoves, fireplaces, patio heaters, and charcoal grills, they also provide a low-cost for converting organic waste into energy. The use of Biomass Briquettes is beneficial in the sense that they can be made from renewable and readily available materials, and their production results in reduced environmental impact as compared to traditional fuels, these can be replaced.

Biomass Briquettes Biomass Briquettes The drawbacks to the use of Biomass Briquettes consist of the fact that burning biomass directly as a fuel produces more carbon than can be absorbed by plants, making it a hazardous contributor to global warming. The government has no plans for implication or conversion to the use of Biomass Briquettes as an energy source. Biomass Briquettes are not currently our number one source of energy because the burning of the biomass directly as a fuel produces more carbon than plants are capable of absorbing.

Energy Nuclear Energy Nuclear Energy is made from the splitting of uranium atoms in a process called fission. The fission process is used to produce steam, which is used by a turbine to generate electricity. Nuclear Energy is used for producing electricity. The benefits of Nuclear Power are that it is a clean way to produce energy, as it does not result in the emission of any poisonous gases such as carbon dioxide, sulfur or nitrogen, it is an extremely reliable source of energy because nuclear reactors have a life cycle of 40 years.

Nuclear Energy The drawbacks of Nuclear Power are radioactive waste, and the fact that the source for nuclear energy is Uranium, which is a scarce resource. Government policy changes since the late 1990s have helped surface the way for significant growth in nuclear capacity. Government and industry are working closely on expedited approval for construction and new plant designs. Nuclear energy is currently the number one supplier of energy in the US, accounting for more than 30% of nuclear energy world wide.
