2 What is an Events Co-Ordinator Events coordinators plan and organise many different events, anything from parties, wedding receptions, product launches, meetings, conferences to festivals, and banquets. The usual things they would have to do range from the following: liaise with clients about events and offer professional advice to ensure their requests being met. set a budget and work to it. organise the venue ensure that everything is appropriately set up, with regard to seating and décor. making sure there are enough staff to look after the guests. book entertainment and transport there and back. coordinate staff to make sure that the event runs on time (for example, speeches and the serving of food and refreshments) find solutions to any problems that arise advise senior management on matters requiring their attention and implement their decisions

3 Entry Requirements Events managers often start their careers from a variety of backgrounds. Employers will look for relevant experience or strong transferable skills such as client management, organisation, budget management and negotiation. However there are also numerous events management courses ranging from foundation degree to degree level at colleges and universities. These could be taken as a possible way into the industry or, at a later stage, as part of your professional development.

5 Salary for Events Co-Ordinator The average salary for an events co-ordinator is anything from 19,000-25,000 a year. This really depends on experience and transferable skills.
