3. Course  Equivalent=2 semester first year biology course at college.  Double block to accommodate lab component  College Board curriculum audit  Centered around: Big Ideas and Science Practices

4. Assignments  Lab Notebook  Formal Lab Reports  Including use of Excel!!!  Journal Club  Discussion of a variety of scientific sources  Tests  Model AP test  Practice AP questions  Mastering Biology online tool

5. Expectations  Work is ON TIME!  Present in class (this is a lab course and very hard to make up outside of class time)  Work collaboratively with peers but individual work is done with academic integrity.  Students seek out help when struggling!

6. The Test  Last year 5% nationally earned a 5; Needham had 20%.  College credit?!?  Take the test!!! Informs where you fall when you are sitting in a class of freshmen a large portion who took!
