Sports aid Regular exercise is an important part of good health, but with every form of recreation, you need to be aware of potential dangers and of first aid care that might be needed. Most sports-related injuries affect the muscular system and/or skeletal system For minor injuries such as muscle soreness, muscle strain, or a minor sprain, remember the RICE treatment.
5
There are four steps to the RICE treatment 1. Rest Refrain from using the affected part to prevent further injury Gradually rebuild your exercise program 2. Ice Place an ice pack on the injured muscle(s) Ice packs will prevent or reduce swelling

3. Compression Wrap an elastic bandage around the injured area to secure the ice pack. Do not wrap the area so tightly as to cause numbness. After 30 minutes, remove the ice for 15 minutes, and repeat the process for three hours. 4. Elevation Elevate the injured area above the level of the heart.
