The Korean Education System operates 6-3-3-4 basis.

-oversees the national school curriculum with flexibility in design according to individual schools depending on their objectives. The last major curriculum overhaul enacted in 1998 (revised in 2009 and 2012) with a focus on promoting individual learning pathways, the reduction of study loads, and the nurturing of creative thinking.

Seventh Curriculum -consist of Basic Common Curriculum and selected curriculum at the high school level, covering 10 years from primary school through the first year of high school.

Primary Education -Primary Education in Korea is free and compulsory from the age of six. Primary Education runs from 1st grade to 6th grade, and the enrollment rate at this level is essentially universal.

Middle School - Middle School runs for three years and is free and compulsory. In middle school, students are streamed according to ability in Mathematics, English, Korean Language, Social Studies and Science.

High School High Schools are divided into: General/Academic Vocational Special Purpose (Foreign Language, Art, and Science High Schools) -This year is neither compulsory nor free

University Admission -At the end of high school, students must take the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) if they want to continue on to university. The test is administered by the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation in November each year, and is offered in one of three streams: Social Studies Sciences Vocational Education The college application process is divided into three phases: Special Selection Regular Selection Additional Selection
