Flight Review By Mark Roberson

The Flight Review is required by Federal Aviation Regulations for all pilots who intend to act as pilot in command of an aircraft.

FAR Section 61.56 61.56Flight Review A flight review consists of a minimum of 1 hour of flight training and 1 hour of ground training. The review must include:

(1) A review of the current general operating and flight rules of Part 91 of this chapter; and

( 2)A review of those maneuvers and procedures that, at the discretion of the person giving the review, are necessary for the pilot to demonstrate the safe exercise of the privileges of the pilot certificate.

Who is authorized to conduct flight reviews?

Any Lighter-than-Air Commercial rated Hot Air Balloon Pilot, Designated Pilot Examiner, or other person designated by the FAA administrator.

Flight Reviews are valid for 24 calendar months

Why should I get a flight review?

The purpose of the flight review is to ensure that you continue to update and expand your skills as a pilot.

How can I show satisfactorily completion of a flight review?

How will the endorsement appear?

The endorsement should read similar to the following: I certify that (First name, MI, Last name), (private or commercial) pilot certificate, (pilot certificate number), has satisfactorily completed a flight review in accordance with section 61.56(a) on (date).
