Comes from Latin word that means, “to go around.” A circuit is a path provided to allow electrons to flow. A circuit allows the energy from a power source (battery) to travel along to the load(light-bulb), in order to it energy.

PARALLEL CIRCUITS  Parallel circuits allow electrons to have more than one path on which they can travel.  If one light bulb goes out, the other light bulbs stay lit.

 In a series circuit there is only one path for electrons to follow.  If one light bulb goes out, then the rest of the light bulbs go out.

PARALLEL  Bulbs are brighter!  Most have their houses wired in a parallel circuit.

 Can add more than one power source.  Adding more light bulbs does affect the circuit’s resistance.  Why?
