SESSION OBJECTIVE Strengthen public / private understanding of and support for hurricane preparedness and response efforts Examine potential for comprehensive legislation that helps mitigate the effects of all types of natural hazards Review risk assessment / management tools and techniques to manage the public’s vulnerabilities to hurricanes Examine operations, procedures, and policies that will increase our nation's resilience to hurricane hazards Review new technologies in communication, information dissemination and notification, and outreach and education programs Strengthen public / private understanding of and support for hurricane preparedness and response efforts Examine potential for comprehensive legislation that helps mitigate the effects of all types of natural hazards Review risk assessment / management tools and techniques to manage the public’s vulnerabilities to hurricanes Examine operations, procedures, and policies that will increase our nation's resilience to hurricane hazards Review new technologies in communication, information dissemination and notification, and outreach and education programs 1990 1992
