2. www.filmtelangana.com2 ‘ Film Telangana 2009 ’ the Concept: Filmmaking is still a relatively less chartered territory among common folk. With enhancements in technology & affordability it is easy to roll out a digital (short) film relatively with little effort and with its ability to reach out to a relatively larger audience base. ' Discover Telangana ’ in association with ' Karimnagar Film Society (KaFiSo)' came up with the idea of putting together a competition for digital short films on Telangana called ‘ Film Telangana 2009 ’ (FT9) to encourage the budding talent.

3. www.filmtelangana.com3 Purpose of ‘ Film Telangana 2009 ’ New film makers need to be groomed so that they can inspire the younger generations to learn more about their culture, heritage & issues. Our belief is that, such films don’t just impact people from Telangana but people from all walks of life, given the right exposure and publicity. A case in point is ‘ Maa Bhoomi ’, a film which has created a major stir among every single person who got an opportunity to watch it (a subject which was neither contemporary nor mainstream when it was released)

4. www.filmtelangana.com4 What would evolve from such an event: The art of film making is a cumulative learning process, we hope the result of ‘ Film Telangana 2009 ’ will inspire filmmakers like never before about varied cultural facets of Telangana, its current issues and in turn motivate the audience. It will be a visual representation of the splendor, the lesser known culture, traditions, people and places. Apart from that, of course we are very hopeful that ‘ Film Telangana 2009 ’ will act as a catalyst in launching an exciting and productive film career for all the budding filmmakers out there in.

5. www.filmtelangana.com5 The Competition: The contest was launched on 12th January, 2009 The deadline for submission of short films is 31 st May 2009. With seven films already online (on our website filmtelangana.com ), we received 24 films by the deadline. filmtelangana.com  We will be uploading new films accordingly so please visit our website for latest updates 10 films will be short listed by a jury of film-makers between June - July 2009. Final prize distribution will be held in the last week of July 2009 (date to be announced) and the winners will be awarded.
