Project objective We want to show our audience a different perception of their very common toy through the platform of a shadow box. Letting our audience to understand more on the specific toy we chose.

Shadow box A 3D enclosed display case as a representation or a miniature replica of a scene or object(s) Purpose: People often use it to preserve and treasure for its memories value of important personal events or experiences that has connection to a historical, sporting event, culture, entertainment.

Toys An object is a toy if you play with it for fun and entertainment. Why toys? -We can express and create own unique personality through the toys we choose, the way we display and how we talk about them -Understand historical perspectives, using the toy as a link between generation. -Nostalgia purpose -Toys play an important role as learning tools to foster creativity, critical thinking, and imagination through play

Idea concept Each individual shadow box would include one or combinations of: -Initial and/or essential function of the toy -Purpose of toy -Evolution and development of the toy -Representations of the history, culture or/and countries of the toy -Construction of the toys The series of toy box would be link to each other with a world map

Challenges faced and how we overcome it? Finding the actual piece of the toy itself Considerations of the materials for the design Choosing of selected toys to its compatible country Layout of all the shadow boxes How do we link the five boxes together

Fujimoto tessellation -bright colored paper use to gain attraction -covered at all sides accept the front for viewing -the different sides could be of a different tessellation LED light origami box -different color/size -hand on the top of the box using strings -can be of a different origami shapes [e.g. crane]
