2 Introduction New European Union Programme  2020, aims to: Promote competitive, environmentally sustainable, economically viable and socially responsible fisheries and aquaculture; Foster the implementation of the CFP; Promote a balanced and inclusive territorial development of fisheries and aquaculture areas; Foster the development and implementation of the Union’s IMP in a manner complementary to cohesion policy and to the CFP.
